The TSA Security Directive released on July 20, 2021, contains requirements for operators of TSA-designated critical pipelines to improve their defenses against rising cyber threats, including ransomware that can directly impact operations by: 

  • Creating specific mitigation measures to protect against ransomware attacks and other known threats to information technology and operational technology systems
  • Developing and implementing a cybersecurity contingency and recovery plan
  • Conducting a cybersecurity architecture design review
